How many times major league teams have won championship by winning 4 game 7s?

1

If instead of "European Championship" you mean the continental championship of the continent where the team is located (since it is not possible for any team outside of Europe to win the European championship) then the answer is:

Santos (Brazil) - 1962
Celtic (Scotland) - 1967
Englebert (DR Congo) - 1967
Cruz Azul (Mexico) - 1969
Ajax Amsterdam (Netherlands) - 1972
Vita Club (Zaire) - 1973
MC Algiers (Algeria) - 1976
Liverpool (England) - 1984
Defence Force (Trinidad & Tobago) - 1985
PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) - 1988
Manchester United (England) - 1999
Hearts of Oak (Ghana) - 2000
Al-Ahly (Egypt) - 2006
Auckland City (New Zealand) - 2006
Waitakere United (New Zealand) - 2008
Barcelona (Spain) - 2009
Internazionale (Italy) - 2010
Esperance (Tunisia) - 2011
Bayern Munich (Germany) -...

He won three super bowls (92,93,95), plus a college football championship (while injured), in 1985.

He wasn't a member of any coaching staffs who won championships, as far as I can tell - he's been a commentator since his retirement, for Fox.

From looking at the picture, there are three superbowl rings, which would be his pinky finger, middle finger, and thumb. There is one Pro Football Hall of Fame ring, which is the lower ring on his ring finger (the oval-shaped purple ring). One would be his College Football Hall of Fame ring, which is likely the other ring finger ring. The sixth could be one of a few things; it could be his college football championship ring, although that should be red. It could be a ring for an MVP or some other honor, or possibly for the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor, though I didn't see any evidence of that...

The 2015 National League Championship Series was a best-of-seven playoff contested between the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets for the National League (NL) pennant and the right to play in the 2015 World Series. The Mets swept the Cubs four games to none for their fifth National League pennant in franchise history. The series was the 45th in league history with TBS airing all games in the United States. Game 1 was played on October 17.[1]

This was the first postseason meeting between the Mets and Cubs, and first NLCS in which the losing team never had a lead during a game. It was also the first since 2007 to end in a sweep and the third best-of-seven NLCS to do so (the other being in 1995).

Background[edit]

The Chicago Cubs finished the 2015 season with a 97–65 record, the third best record in the majors. With new manager Joe Maddon and the great play of pitcher Jake Arrieta and hitters Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant, the Cubs experienced their best...

The 2003 American League Championship Series was played between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees from October 8 to October 16, 2003. The Yankees won the series 4 games to 3 to advance to the World Series.

This series delivered yet another blow to Red Sox fans' hopes of winning a World Series for the first time since 1918. The series seemed evenly matched, with the lead being held first by the Red Sox, then by the Yankees. The Sox forced the series to a full seven games, with the seventh game setting another major league record for the rivalry between the two teams: it marked the first time two major league teams have played more than 25 games against each other over the course of a single season. The Red Sox also set an ALCS record with 12 home runs in the series.

About

Major League Gaming, often abbreviated MLG, founded in 2002 by Sundance DiGiovanni and Mike Sepso, is a North American professional Electronic sports organisation, headquartered in New York City. MLG has held official video game tournaments throughout the United States and Canada, which were sometimes broadcast on television. The company has also been involved in game development, after buying a software developer for online gaming communities [1]. MLG's aim is to elevate computer and console game tournaments to viable competitive and spectator events [2]. Even though it used to focus on FPS (First Person Shooter games) and fighting games, MLG eventually opened its horizons to RTS (Real Time Strategy games) and MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games) with StarCraft II and League of Legends, respectively in 2010 and 2011.

A gentleman named Kerry gets credit for this entry. As he wrote in the comments below:

In over a hundred years of rugby, the All Blacks hold an 84% winning record against all oppostion played. They have also won 74% of all test matches played, and hold a winning record against EVERY TEST NATION IN THE WORLD (including the British & Irish Lions, and the World XV).

Romania (the best team in Eastern Europe), Canada (the best team in North America), Japan (the best in Asia), and other World Rugby Heavyweights Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Argentina, Samoa, and Fiji have never beaten New Zealand.

The average margin when playing the All Blacks is 25-12- that is, they have scored more than twice the amount of points than all opposition combined.

New Zealand is so good, that they have never been ranked lower than 3rd on the World Rankings. In 1987, they were crowned the first ever Rugby World Champions beating France in the final 29-9.

Since 1996, when rugby...

A list of the top managers that guide their teams currently in Major League Baseball.

Major League Baseball has been going through a very rough time with its fans over the past few years, and for good reason. The steroid era has fans wondering if they can believe anyone or trust that any of their favorite players are actually clean. Fortunately for the game, the league remains a very competitive one, and one in which any team has a chance to win and go from the bottom to the top. The Tampa Bay Rays proved how far a team can go in one year last year, and the Rockies did so the year before. Given that there is so much talent in baseball and the teams are so equal, the job of a manager becomes that much more important. The role of a successful manager of a baseball team is to put his team into a position to win the most games possible, and having them playing their best baseball when it counts. A manager needs to know all the important baseball statistics, but they also need...

Major League Soccer or MLS with its popular name is set in 1993 before U.S.A became the host of 94 world cup. After a splendid start in its first season, American National Soccer team eliminated in the first round of 1998 World Cup and following season was a disaster with decreased attendant numbers and resigned sponsors. But in 1999-2000 season, fresh talents like Landon Donovan and DaMarcus Beasley started to dominate the league and their artistic style made the MLS soccer highlights available in the other countries’ football shows. Also U.S National Team started to win the important matches. It was 2002 World Cup that U.S national team with MLS league’s players succeeded in their category. How many teams are there in the Major League Soccer of USA?

There are two conferences and 19 teams in the MLS. 16 of teams are from U.S and 3 of them are from Canada. There are 34 games in the regular season and there’s a playoff series on 10 teams.

This means that the average 15 game playoff is worth 138.75 regular season games. Divided by this value, this makes the regular season for a given team 117% as important as the postseason including the World Series. This result though seems a little high for my purposes.

There is another method, which includes just assuming the entire playoffs include 8 teams. This means that the 15 games of the playoffs should be multiplied by 3.75 (30/8) to get the number of regular season games the playoffs are worth. This outcome is 56.25 games, meaning the regular season is 288% as important as the playoffs.

To get my value, I averaged these two outcomes to find that the regular season should count 202.4% as much as the postseason. I left 85% open for the regular season and postseason stats, so of that, about 57% should be made up of regular season statistics, and 28% of postseason stats. The regular season, though, I split into two categories. I will split that 57% into Regular...

The Manchester United midfielder picked up his sixth award in Armenia on Wednesday but one of his Red Devils team-mates has claimed even more

Henrikh Mkhitaryan won his sixth Armenian Footballer of the Year award in a row on Wednesday, and his seventh in total.

The Manchester United midfielder has become his country's most famous footballing export by some distance, with only a handful of current members of the national team playing in top European leagues.

How Man Utd's loanees are getting on

He has been handed the prize in every year but one since his 20th birthday as a result, but how does his dominance in his homeland compare to other countries and stars?

Among major nations, no one has been more singlehandedly influential for their national team than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been named Sweden's best player 11 times during the course of his career.

That is unlikely to be matched for a while, with his closest rivals in Finland...

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been home to many teams and events in professional, semi-professional, amateur, college, and high-school sports. Philadelphia is one of twelve cities that hosts teams in all four major sports leagues in North America, and Philadelphia is one of just three cities in which one team from every league plays within city limits. These major sports teams are the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball, the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association and the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League. Each team has played in Philadelphia since at least the 1960s, and each team has won at least one championship. Since 2010, Philadelphia has been the home of the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer which plays in suburban Chester, Pennsylvania, making the Philadelphia market one of nine cities that hosts a team in the four major sports leagues and the MLS. Rivalries in the National Hockey League have occurred between many teams and cities. Rivalries have arisen for many different reasons, the primary ones including geographic proximity, familiarity with opponents, on-ice incidents, and cultural, linguistic, or national pride.

The importance of these various factors has varied widely throughout the history of the league.

Early history[edit]

During the earliest days of the NHL, the league was limited strictly to Central Canada, and all cities in the league were in close proximity, making for bitter rivalries all around. In addition, Montreal had two teams representing its English-French divide. The "French" Canadiens battled the "English" Wanderers (and later the Maroons). Rivalries also existed with other leagues, such as the Pacific Coast Hockey Association. It was not until 1926 that the NHL took sole ownership of the Stanley Cup. By that time, the league began expanding into the United States, and new...
