Paddle tennis is a sport adapted from tennis. The name comes from the English word paddle, referring to the paddles players use during competition.

Paddle tennis is a sport with very little history; one could call it a young sport, as regulated forms of the game have existed only since the 1980s. The name comes from the English word paddle (in Spanish the sport is called Padel), referring to the paddles players use during competition.

In the 19th century, a similar enclosed-court variety of tennis was already being played by passengers on British ships. The first versions of paddle tennis began appearing in New York during the first quarter of the 20th century, when paddles substituted the traditional tennis racquet.

Enrique Corcuera, from Mexico, has the distinction of being considered the inventor of the sport, finding inspiration in America’s paddle tennis. The new sport was born when Mr. Corcuera modified a court, 20 by 10 meters in size, by adding walls...

What's Qucs?

Qucs stands for Quite Universal Circuit Simulator. So far Qucs is not yet finished, but it is already packed with features. Take a look at the

screenshots

to get a feel for what it can do.

Qucs is an integrated circuit simulator which means you are able to setup a circuit with a graphical user interface (GUI) and simulate the large-signal, small-signal and noise behaviour of the circuit. After that simulation has finished you can view the simulation results on a presentation page or window.

Qucs, briefly for Quite Universal Circuit Simulator, is a circuit simulator with graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI is based on Qt® by Digia®. The software aims to support all kinds of circuit simulation types, e.g. DC, AC, S-parameter, Harmonic Balance analysis, noise analysis, etc. Qucsator, the simulation backend, is a command line circuit simulator. Through the cooperation of the Nature Conservancy, Lafayette Paddle Club, and the Lafayette Kayak Fishing club a new launch for paddle craft at Lake Martin is nearly complete! This is huge news for Lafayette area paddlers who prior to this did not have a designated paddle craft launch for this beautiful paddling estuary.

The launch required the installation of timbers to stair step the bank down to lake level – making launching much easier. Both clubs teamed up to dig the steps and install the timbers. The last step remaining is the addition of sand and limestone on these steps.

The ongoing maintenance of this site will be a community responsibility. Pack & Paddle, along with both clubs have committed to picking up litter and doing light weed eating when we are out there for trips. We ask all paddlers that are out enjoying this new facility to please pick up any litter you see and report problems to the Nature Conservancy.

On behalf of Pack & Paddle, we would...

Activating The Paddleshift

There are two methods to activating paddleshift on your smart.

Gearshift PCB

Smart part number 001 3060 V001

Works on all 600cc, 700cc and 800cc fortwos and the Roadster. The 451 even uses the same
gear stick control unit (SE Drive) so logic dictates that it should work on those too, HOWEVER...
The PCBs expect the paddle and horn resistances found in a 600cc steering wheel so if you fit a 700cc
steering wheel, or attempt to fit it to a 451, it won't work unless you change the resistors and the wiring.

If you have a 600cc car and wish to have paddleshift then the PCB is your only option but you really should
make sure you get a paddleshift steering wheel designed for a 600cc car. These only have 1 electrical connection
on the black cartridge on the back. 700cc and 999cc steering wheels have 2 connections on the back.

There are a number of gearshift PCBs available:

The Glitched Circuit Board is a cosmetic item added in the November 22, 2013 Patch. It was used to replace all robot gate hats that were accidentally made craftable on the November 21, 2013 Patch. Like the Barely-Melted Capacitor, this item doesn't change the appearance of any of the classes when equipped.

November 22, 2013 Patch

Fixed a bug that would cause robot "gate hat" items to be craftable. Gate hats that were crafted while the bug was active have self-destructed and become limited-quantity Glitched Circuit Boards as a commemorative token.

September 17, 2014 Patch

Added the Limited attribute to the Glitched Circuit Board.

August 29, 2016 Patch

How much would your surfing benefit if you could paddle for longer times without fatigue or a need for rest. Couldn’t you catch some more waves if you had more powerful strokes, and stronger strokes? How many waves have you missed in the past years because your arms were to worn out to paddle into that set wave at the end of day? In your surf training programs, throw in some paddle endurance circuits…. build some stamina in your back, triceps, core, shoulders, and lats.

Paddling Circuit – Train Your Arms To Move!

It drives me nuts when I miss a wave because my arms are shot…. noodles flailing around in the water. If you’re noodles at the end of a 4hour session, that’s one thing, if your arms are worn out after your first big paddle out………. you need to get a stronger back and arms. Not only do you need to strengthen various muscle groups to specifically influence surfing, you also need to train them in a manner to prepare them for the rigors of...

"Padel tennis" redirects here. It is not to be confused with

Paddle tennis

.

Padel is a racquet sport. In the US and Canada the sport is known as Paddle.

Padel is not to be confused with Platform Tennis, a winter sport typically played at country clubs in the US and Canada, with courts heated from below to eliminate snow and water. The court, rules, and styles of play are very different.

History[edit]

Padel is typically played in doubles on an enclosed court a third the size of a tennis court. Scoring is the same as normal tennis and the balls used are similar but with a little less pressure, the main differences are that the court has walls and the balls can be played off them in a similar way as in the game of squash and that solid, stringless racquets are used. The height of the ball being served must be at or below the waist level.

The sport was invented in Acapulco, Mexico, by Enrique Corcuera in 1969. It is currently most popular...

This predecessor to the modern game of squash, rackets, is played with 30...

Perform full-body circuit training and you’ll burn calories — but not as many as using an elliptical machine or high-impact step aerobics. When you circuit train, you work your muscles in a specific order, often on weight training machines, without much rest in between exercises — generally 15 to 30 seconds.

You will burn 240 calories in a half-hour of circuit training if you weigh 125 lbs. That goes up to 289 calories if you weigh 155 and 355 if you weigh 185, according to Harvard Medical School.

Circuit training burns less than using an elliptical trainer or performing high-impact step aerobics for a half-hour. On the elliptical, a 125-lb. person will burn 270 calories, a 155-lb. person 335 and a 185-lb. person 400. Performing step aerobics will burn 300 calories for a 125-lb. person, 372 for a 155-lb. person and 444 for a 185-lb. person, according to Harvard.
