What are the reserve days for play off matches of IPL7?

Consider a situation where Team A and Team B are playing a cricket match,

Team A scored some odd runs (lets assume 250 runs).

Team B is chasing the score, while chasing they require 2 runs from a ball. Bowler bowls the ball Umpire somehow declare it as a NO ball and batsman is able to take only single run from that ball in this case the Team B wins the match because of that NO ball.

Now my question is after a day of the match Team A checks the replays and finds it was not a NO ball or it was not appropriate to say that ball was not legal to be bowled and if that is considered the result should have been tie instead of Team B winning the match, will the result can be changed on the appeal from Team A?

Does they have any right to ask for or report for the same?

If yes then is there any team who have done like this in Cricket...

KXIP face KKR in IPL 7 finale tonight

Qualifier 2 match analysis: Kings XI Punjab faced Chennai Super Kings in the battle of the kings, which was a cracker of a match. CSK won the toss and decided to put the batting might of KXIP to test. Turned out to be a big mistake. Thanks to Virender Sehwag's colossal 122 off 58 deliveries (highest IPL 7 score so far), KXIP set a massive target of 227 for Chennai to get in 20 overs. CSK fumbled right at the start, losing Francois du Plessis on the second ball of their innings. But with Raina’s blistering 87 off 25 deliveries, the men in yellow initially made a mockery of the KXIP total, making 100 in the first 6 overs. That is, and we suspect will remain for a while, an IPL record. Raina's strike-rate of 348 is, for now, the highest for any batsman in T20 history (in an innings of at least 50 runs).

But just when Raina seemed on track to make the fastest IPL hundred (that record is held by Chris Gayle, who fired a 30-ball ton...

As Virat Kohli made clear, the Indian Premier League is a chance for players to let their hair down and have a bit of fun. Yes, there is plenty of money at stake but it still isn’t as serious as international cricket. It is also a chance for players from different countries to get together and enjoy themselves in a competitive yet entertaining way for the next six weeks.

This mix naturally gives rise to some entertaining or interesting quotes. Over the course of IPL 7, we will be keeping an ear out for what people say – from players and coaches to owners and fans. We’ll update the list on a daily basis, so make sure you keep coming back for quotes that are sure to make you laugh or make you think (or both).

Kings 11 Punjab

Finally, good days seem to have arrived for owners and fans of King XI Punjab after their stunning debut season in the Indian Premier League five years back, as the Punjab-based franchise has started off extremely well in this edition of IPL 7. In the first week, Kings XI have managed to remain at the top position in the points tally by winning all the three matches so far. Apart from the team, players like Glenn Maxwell and Lakshmipathy Balaji have managed to be at the top position for having scored the maximum number of runs and taken the maximum number of wickets respectively. Also, Kings XI Punjab has the record for the highest team total in IPL 7 till now: 206 vs. CSK.

Here are the stats after the first week of IPL 7:

At the end of the UAE phase Rajasthan Royals had stood at 3rd position in the leader board and Delhi Daredevils were at the penultimate position. The game between both the sides at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on May 3 showed exactly why this was the case.

Team composition: Both the teams made changes to the teams that contested in the previous match. Delhi brought in pacer Rahul Sharma for allrounder Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Rajasthan got in seam bowling allrounder Dhawal Kulkarni instead of spin bowling allrounder Iqbal Abdulla.

Batting: RR won the toss and put DD in. DD got to 152 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs and much of the credit in this case can be given to Quinton de Kock who scored 42 from 33 balls and JP Duminy who got 39 from 31 balls down the order. The failure of the other batsmen, including skipper Kevin Pietersen, meant that DD was unable to get to a bigger score that would have given their bowlers more comfort in the end.

In a surprise decision, the Indian Premier League final to be played on June 1 was shifted out of Mumbai to Bangalore, the BCCI announced on Saturday.

The final of the tournament has always been staged at the home ground of the previous winners which in this case was the Mumbai Indians, but the BCCI decided to shift the game to Bangalore.

The IPL Governing Council took the decision after it's meeting in Mumbai stating that they wanted to spread the games around the country.

"Considering that twenty matches of the ongoing Pepsi IPL season were played overseas, the GC took a decision to try and take the Playoffs to as many different stadia as possible. Several venues had expressed their interest in hosting the Playoffs," BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said in a media statement.

What is meant by reserve day?

From Wikipedia - Limited overs cricket:

Important one-day matches, international and domestic, often have two days set aside, the second day being a "reserve" day to allow more chance of the game being completed if a result is not possible on the first day (for instance if play is prevented or interrupted by rain).

And why ICC not following this for even some big matches? In what basis this rule will applicable?

This depends on ICC and (if it's not a big tournament e.g. Tri-series etc) Cricket boards of playing countries. The reserve days are scheduled while scheduling the timetable of any tournament. For big tournaments numbers of days of the tournament are fixed as per their yearly schedule. And from the given days they schedule reserve days specially for latter stages (e.g. Quarter final, Semi final etc..). So that the match can be played again/resumed if the first day is interrupted by...

The Pepsi-IPL-7 play-off final will be played at Bangalore on June 1 and two play-off matches (qualifier 1 and eliminator) scheduled to be held at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on May 27 and 28 has been allotted to the Cricket Association of Bengal (Kolkata) and Cricket Club of India (CCI) Mumbai.

Reserve days

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has been allotted the second qualifier on May 30. The IPL has provided a reserve day for qualifier 1, eliminator and the final play-off matches.

The practice so far has been to allot a play-off match and the final to the home association of the previous year’s title winning team and the other two play-off matches to the previous year’s runner-up team.

Unresolved stadium related issues between the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) and the local municipal corporation has compelled the IPL to relocate the two play-off matches.

BCCI Secretary Sanjay Patel said in a press release: “The TNCA has informed...

The 2013 season of the Indian Premier League, abbreviated as IPL 6 or Pepsi IPL 2013, was the sixth season of the IPL, established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The tournament featured nine teams and was held from 3 April to 26 May 2013.[2] The opening ceremony was held at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on 2 April 2013. This was the first season with PepsiCo as the title sponsor. The Kolkata Knight Riders were the defending champions, having won the 2012 season. A spot fixing case was revealed by Delhi Police, leading to arrest of three cricketers from Rajasthan Royals and other persons. Mumbai Indians won the tournament for the first time, defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final by 23 runs.[3]

PepsiCo replaced DLF Ltd as the title sponsor starting with the 2013 season. DLF did not renew their contract after their initial five-year contract, for 2.50 billion, ended with the previous season....

Chennai Super Kings 192 for 1 (Hussey 86*, Raina 82*) beat Mumbai Indians 144 (Smith 68, Bravo 3-9, Jadeja 3-31) by 48 runs
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

The IPL faced new crises - including a hearing for alleged spot-fixers about 10km from the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium and a hearing asking for a ban on the event itself - but on the field the same old story of Chennai Super Kings' domination of big IPL matches continued as they made it to their fifth final out of the six IPLs played.

Michael Hussey and Suresh Raina powered them with 80s, but the 192 seemed inadequate the way Dwayne Smith hit 68 off 28. Into the game came Ravindra Jadeja with the wickets of Smith, Dinesh Karthik and Kieron Pollard. Mumbai get another shot at making it to the final when they face the winner of the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.

Super Kings looked a bit hassled in the eight-over slog against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous...
